
A word from the Vice Chairman of the Authority
- The General Authority for Supply Commodities is one of the entities responsible for food security for the nation and its citizens. The Authority is responsible for securing a strategic reserve sufficient to meet the country's needs for extended periods by controlling domestic markets and creating commodity balances in terms of quantity and price is determined by a number of policies that the Authority implements and achieves. The Authority adopts modern tools and methods to achieve its strategic objectives through the resources available to it and in coordination with all relevant state agencies. Based on the strategic nature of the Authority, the Authority provides the most important data and information to beneficiaries and the most important of those dealing with it through this site, hoping to achieve the maximum benefit from it, and we ask God to grant us success in what will raise our beloved country under the leadership of the President of the Republic and the wise government.

Speech by the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade and Chairman of the General Authority for Supply Commodities Dr. Sherif Farouk
- The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) is the cornerstone of achieving food security and ensuring price stability. It develops flexible strategic plans that adapt to global changes, ensuring secure stocks of essential commodities, especially in light of the global economic challenges impacting food markets.
- The Authority is responsible for securing a strategic reserve sufficient to meet the country's needs for extended periods. This is achieved through close monitoring of local and global market movements, with the goal of ensuring citizens' needs are met efficiently and effectively and maintaining stable food prices in the local market.
- The Authority also adopts a modern scientific management methodology in all its activities, relying on the latest scientific concepts and methods to achieve its goals efficiently and effectively, and at the lowest possible cost, in light of current economic and climate challenges.
- Based on the Authority's strategic role and in light of the accelerating digital transformation, it is committed to adopting the latest information technologies and providing data and information transparently to all beneficiaries and partners. This is part of enhancing transparency and ensuring efficient performance.
- With God's help, we will continue to work hard to achieve our national goals for the advancement of our beloved country, under the leadership of His Excellency the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi the President of the Republic and in cooperation with all government agencies. Mission
Procuring strategic commodities from global and local markets and ensuring safe stocks of them contributes to balancing supply and demand, combating monopolistic competition, and achieving market balance and price stability in the face of food inflationary waves.
Strategy
The General Authority for Supply Commodities is one of the economic bodies entrusted with achieving the following objectives:
- Procuring and providing food and consumer goods that meet the needs of the broad base of low-income individuals within the framework of the support plan adopted by the state.
- Creating balance in local markets by regulating the movement of domestic trade and prices in a way that preserves food security and prevents monopolistic practices. Arranging and providing the country's needs for basic commodities, as decided by the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, whether by import or local management, in addition to any other commodities facing any monopolistic practices in the local market. The Authority spends on the goods it is entrusted to manage through the support amounts provided by the Ministry of Finance. The support amount represents the difference between the cost of the commodity and its selling price.
